When Lesley went for her first flight in a small airplane six years ago, it was 'love at first flight'. She decided that life is too short to be a passenger and, at age 50, she quit her high-stress full-time job to learn how to fly. To quote Amelia Earhart, Lesley says - "I fly for the fun of it!". Only 6% of pilots are women, so Lesley is in the minority at the airport.
In 2010, the Centennial of Women Licensed pilots, Lesley introduced 54 women and girls to aviation and helped make Oshawa the 'Most Female Friendly Airport in the World'!
Lesley enjoys speaking to women's groups and students about her passion. Her main presentation is entitled "Life is too short to be a passenger" It is a motivational/inspiration discussion with lots of photos, including photos that she took while flying her airplane in the Bahamas.
Airbags have been part of the automotive industry for years and you wouldn't think about purchasing a car without them. Well, this life-saving technology is now available for your aircraft. In service since 2001, 80% of new general aviation aircraft have the AmSafe Airbag System. Now the airbag is available for retrofit on older aircraft.
Learn about the advancements in Aviation Airbag technology and how you can make yourself, and those that fly with you more safe on every flight!
