ASTRONAUT Dave Williams: SPACE
Join Canadian Warplane Heritage's very own Canadian Astronaut Dr. Dafydd Rhys Williams as he talks about his missions and experience in Space.
With nearly 700 hours in Space, Dave Williams holds the Candian record for Spacewalks having spent over 17 hours outside the Shuttle. In 2001, he became an aquanaut through his participation in the joint NASA-NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration) and became the first Canadian to have lived and worked in space and in the ocean. Having retired from active astronaut status in 2008, Dr. Williams now serves as the director for the new McMaster Centre for Medical Robotics at St. Joseph's Hospital. |

Health and Medicals
This presentation will look at some of the common medical problems encountered by pilots as their flying career progresses and how these issues might affect the medical certification for their aviation license. Dr. Jim Pfaff has been involved in the pilot medical certification process for Transport Canada in Ontario for the past decade. His 45 years in aviation as a pilot and flight surgeon have given him a unique perspective and growing empathy for the issue of aging and flying.

Aviation Enforcement
Audra Oakes, an Aviation Enforcement Inspector in the Ontario Region, will candidly outline the Enforcement Process. You will walk away with a better understanding of what may happen if your aircraft is reported by ATC or is reported in the CADORS. Tips on how to comply with CARs that are commonly contravened by privately-operated aircraft will also be shared.
